Ministry warning follows instances of companies reducing salaries of Emiratis

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation is monitoring the implementation of Emiratisation as some private companies have been found to be misusing the Nafis programme.

In a statement, Minister of of Human Resources and Emiratisation Dr Abdul Rahman Al Awar said: “Some companies have been found to reduce salaries of Emirati job candidates given that Nafis would offer them several benefits, including salary top-up when hired.”

Al Awar called on Emirati job-seekers or those working in the private sector, or community members, to report any malpractices pertaining to Emiratisation through the ministry’s call centre 600590000.

Al Awar said that the ministry will address and deal with any such abuses. “These practices are a clear violation of the Federal-Decree Law No 33 of 2021 regarding Regulation of Labour Relations as it falls under discrimination between persons that would impact career opportunities in the labour market.”
