Aligarh police arrest drunk driver

A drunk driver was taken into custody in Uttar Pradesh’s Aligarh district for allegedly ramming his car into people attending a wedding, police sources said, adding that an eight-year-old child died in the incident.

According to the police, the driver was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. An FIR against the driver was registered under relevant sections, the police said, adding that the CCTV footage of the incident has also come to the fore.

Police said around 1am yesterday, wedding guests had been hit by a grey car.
