Daniel Craig to drive electric Aston Martin in new Bond ilm
Daniel Craig’s James Bond will reportedly drive an electric car in the forthcoming ilm.
Studio heads are pushing for the spy to become more eco-friendly, with director Cary Joji Fukunaga spearheading the move, according to The Sun.
However, car fans, fear not, as Bond will still drive an Aston Martin — the limited edition Rapide E, the British manufacturer’s irst electric vehicle.
Only 155 are being built and they will cost £250,000 (Dhs1.2 million) each. “The decision was spearheaded by the ilm’s new director, who’s a total treehugger,” a source told the publication. “He is working directly with Aston Martin to get one of their electric cars ready for its big close-up.
“It’s going to be the centre of an incredible action sequence in the movie. James Bond is known for driving amazing cars and this one won’t disappoint either.
“It’s going to have all the high-tech gadgets. To be clear, this is something Cary pushed for and Daniel and the producers are going along with. “Everybody is afraid of Bond getting labelled ‘too PC’ but they all felt the time was right to put him in a zero emission vehicle.”
Bond 25, which was initially meant to be directed by Danny Boyle, was recently given the working title Shatterhand. Reports have claimed that Bohemian Rhapsody actor Rami Malek has been approached to play the ilm’s villain.
