It’s one of three hotspots in Dubai with LA-based celebrity chef David My­ers at the helm, and of­fers ev­ery­thing for the ul­ti­mate date night -- low twin­kling lights, well-spaced out ta­bles that al­low for in­ti­mate con­ver­sa­tions, views across the canal and a mouth-wa­ter­ing menu filled with ro­man­tic sound­ing dishes in­spired by the Provençal re­gion of France.

And with ac­co­lades in­clud­ing Miche­lin stars and James Beard awards un­der his belt, it’s no won­der that all of the starters, from the high­ly­ac­claimed creamy, but­ter poached lob­ster risotto and the de­li­cious-but­fill­ing deep-fried king crab beignet cov­ered with a smat­ter­ing of sliced chilis to the ten­der, melt-in-the-mouth oc­to­pus, re­ally hit the spot.

The main events come up trumps too with meat-lovers, pescatar­i­ans and vege­tar­i­ans all catered for in equal part. The seabass grilled with wafer thin slices of lemon, and the lamb shoul­der, rec­om­mended by our waiter, proved to be per­fect choices.

Just make sure you or­der a se­lec­tion of sides as what you read on the menu is pretty much what you get on your plate; we went for the truf­fle­in­fused mac & cheese and the parme­san-coated as­para­gus spears and weren’t dis­ap­pointed.

The grand fi­nalé came in the form of a hearty sponge pud­ding, ac­com­pa­nied by charred pineap­ple, that was dressed with fi­nesse in cream and sweet syrup in a ta­ble-side per­for­mance by the restau­rant man­ager. The per­fect end­ing to a truly spe­cial evening.
