All the details of LADY GABRIELLA WINDSOR’S wedding plans with fiancé TOM KINGSTON
Lady Gabriella Windsor will marry her fiancé Tom Kingston at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, in the spring, Buckingham Palace has announced.
The 37-year-old daughter of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent will wed financier Tom in a private ceremony at the same venue that hosted two royal weddings in 2018. A royal source confirmed the occasion would be “for family and friends, and very different” from the public weddings of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank.
hello! understands the nuptials, which will be paid for by the bride’s parents, will take place at the historic chapel in the late spring. Unlike the last two royal weddings, there will be no carriage procession through Windsor, nor will non-guests be invited inside the castle grounds on the day. There will be an afternoon reception at nearby Frogmore House rather than inside Windsor Castle’s historic walls. A Buckingham Palace spokesperson said the venue had “personal resonance” for the couple as Lady Gabriella had spent many Christmases at Windsor and her grandparents the Duke and Duchess of Kent are buried in the Royal Burial Ground at Frogmore. Lady Gabriella was born on 23 April – St George’s Day – and was a bridesmaid to her cousin Lady Helen Taylor at the chapel in 1992.
Invitations have not yet been sent out, but several members of the royal family – Prince Michael is the Queen’s first cousin – are likely to be among the guests.
Lady Gabriella – Ella to her friends – has been in a relationship with Tom, a director of finance company Devonport Capital, for more than three years. He proposed in August while they were on holiday on Sark in the Channel Islands.
Tom, 40, worked in the Diplomatic Missions Unit of the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office and then on conflict resolution in Baghdad for almost three years before moving into finance. He is close friends with Pippa Middleton and he and Lady Gabriella, who works as the arts and travel director for public relations company Branding Latin America, attended Pippa and financier James Matthews’s wedding in 2017.
Royal sources have not yet disclosed whether the Queen will attend the wedding. Her Majesty did not attend the wedding of Lady Gabriella’s brother Lord Frederick Windsor and actress Sophie Winkleman at Hampton Court Palace in 2009.
