All SET for The 15Th edition Of hotec middle east
The original appointment-based event for the hotel industry celebrates its landmark year at The Ritz-carlton Abu Dhabi, Grand Canal, later this month.
A truly international annual event, HOTEC Middle East 2018 has attracted delegates from no fewer than 20 nations around the world for this year’s edition. Supplier companies travel across the globe for the opportunity to spend three days in the company of some of the key hotel owners and operators in the region. The three-day programme is designed to offer participants the right setting to talk business and discuss opportunities with peers and potential clients.
HOTEC Middle East 2018 will be held between the 17 and 20 April.
Proceedings kick off with an ice-breaking welcome reception on Tuesday night. Old friends reunite and new acquaintances are made over delicious food and drinks during this opening function, while the QuestexMclean team, organisers of HOTEC Middle East, welcome attendees and brief delegates about the packed programme.
The educational seminar – powered by Hotel News Middle East – is scheduled for Wednesday morning. Caroline List (Tophotelprojects) will talk the audience through the project pipeline in the region, after which a panel composed of participants will discuss the future of procurement in the region. The discussion will be moderated by our own Patrick Ryan, editor of Hotel News Middle East.
Immediately following the seminar, delegates are ushered into the meeting room for the first of two full days of scheduled face-toface meetings between buyers and suppliers.
Supplier desks, displaying product samples and promotional material, are laid out inside the Ritz-carlton’s elegant meeting room where the pre-scheduled appointments will be held. Prior to the start of HO- TEC, all attending delegates had been asked to choose and prioritise who they wished to meet. This information was used to personalise participants’ schedules which determine today’s proceedings.
After an intense day of meetings, the ‘middle night’ networking evening is a casual affair with fun and laughter and a superb dinner. Many a new acquaintance has been struck up during this activity, where several lasting memories of HOTEC are formed.
The second and final full-day meeting session takes place on Thursday and runs through to late afternoon. Some free time is made available after this, during which delegates may choose to meet up by the pool or take some time to explore the impressive Grand Mosque and other parts of the city or simply catch up over a drink.
The official programme comes to an end on Thursday night with a farewell dinner. Having endured two days of meetings, this is the time that delegates can really let their hair down and celebrate their new friendships and business leads over a lavish dinner with flowing drinks, music and fun.
When event director Stephen Pace-bonello takes the stage to thank everyone and say goodbye, cue the final highlight of the evening… the ‘premiere’ of the official event video put together by HOTEC’S film crew with footage shot over the days of the event. Expect a few good laughs!
It is often said that “people like to do business with people they like”. HOTEC supporters embrace this philosophy and realise that, despite the convenience of mass communication literally at our fingertips, it is infinitely more productive to spend time getting to know people on a personal level. This is what the organisers like to call “Doing business the HOTEC way.”
HOTEC Middle East 2018 will be held 1720 April at The Ritz-carlton Abu Dhabi. The final supplier places are available; anyone interested may contact Stephen on firstname.lastname@example.org for further information.
HOTEC Middle East is one of 15 appointment-based events organised by Questex-mclean Events for four different industries worldwide.
