The fo­cal point of Deira Mall, due to be com­pleted in 2021, is a re­tractable glass roof which will let nat­u­ral light into the Nakheel com­plex and al­low for open-air shop­ping dur­ing cooler months.

The Dhs6.1 bil­lion shop­ping, din­ing and en­ter­tain­ment des­ti­na­tion will fea­ture more than 1000 shops, cafes, restau­rants and en­ter­tain­ment out­lets across 418,000 square me­tres of leasable space, plus a 353,000-square me­tre multi-storey car park with 8400 park­ing bays.

United En­gi­neer­ing Con­struc­tion is build­ing what will be the big­gest mall in the Mid­dle East when it is com­pleted in 2021.

Nakheel Chair­man, Ali Rashid Lootah, said: “Deira Mall com­bines cut­ting-edge de­sign, world­class fa­cil­i­ties and a stun­ning lo­ca­tion to bring a new di­men­sion to Dubai’s re­tail sec­tor.”

Deira Mall will be the cen­tre­piece of Deira Cen­tral, Nakheel’s 835,000-square me­tre mixe­duse com­mu­nity at the heart of Deira Is­lands, con­tain­ing 50 res­i­den­tial and ho­tel tow­ers, plus mosques and re­tail and fit­ness fa­cil­i­ties, all set in ex­ten­sive park­land.

Deira Mall is one of two large-scale re­tail des­ti­na­tions by Nakheel Malls at Deira Is­lands. The other, Deira Is­lands Night Souk, will be the world’s largest night mar­ket, with 5300 shops and al­most 100 quay­side cafes and restau­rants. It is due to be com­pleted later this year.
