04 AARHUS SPORTING CHANCE

Schmidt Hammer Lassen Architects has won a competition to design Aarhus’s new Sports and Culture Campus, which is expected to attract more than 600,000 visitors a year. The 10,000-square metre multi-use community scheme in this Danish city’s most culturally diverse district will accommodate a library, facilities for local residents, an activity hub for circus skills, soccer, school and climbing, while a public swimming pool may also be added. The campus, part of a master plan to improve the quality of life in the area, is due to be completed in 2021.
