EDEN BEACH CLUB
Rixos Beach Club, The Palm - 04 277 1477 edenbeachclub.com
JOURNEY TIME (FROM TECOM): 35 minutes, but it feels like forever getting to that end of the Palm. There is a boat service that leaves from Al Sufouh beach as well. GETTING IN IF NOT ON GUESTLIST/ VIP/ TABLE: No issue getting in, staff were friendly enough but are used to most people having tables. So if you’re just coming in on your own be ready for some confused looks. DRINK PRICES: Beer Dhs55, Gin & Tonic Dhs38, Shisha Dhs150. NUMBER OF BARS: 2 large bars either side of the DJ booth. BAR QUEUES: Hardly any on the night, but it coped well with their big Steve Aoki night. CLIENTELLE: A bit of a mix, mostly an older monied crowd and given their recent line ups quite a few musically educated peeps. COST OF SUNLOUNGER/DAY BED: Dhs200 including welcome drink, tables have a minimum spend Dhs8,000- 20,000. FOOD: The restaurant serves a good selection of food from salads to main courses all of which looked great. MUSIC/ DJS: They’ve got a very competitive line up, with up- andcomers ( Laura Jones) alongside established big hitters ( Above and Beyond). Top notch residents in Kaytek and Sasa Mendone as well make it a strong contender. ENTRY COST: Most events are free, but they’ve started charging Dhs200 for bigger events like Dubfi re and Booka Shade. OPENING HOURS: 10am till Midnight. EASE OF GETTING A TAXI AFTER: Straight into a waiting taxi when we decided to leave but I can imagine on a busier night you might have a bit more of a wait. COMING UP: Sci- Tec overlord Dubfi re is confi rmed for March 20, Groove Armada on March 27 and Steve Bug on May 15.
