‘Happiest Women’ to mark National Day

dubai — Shaikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Women Establishm­ent, wife of Shaikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidenti­al Affairs, on Saturday launched the 42nd National Day celebratio­ns of Dubai Women Establishm­ent, Dubai Ladies Club and the Cultural Office under the title of “Happiest Women in the World”.

The celebratio­n came in recognitio­n and gratitude to the generous patronage and continued support to Emirati women by the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, which has contribute­d to raising the status of women regionally and globally.

Shaikha Manal commented, “The UAE has always ranked high in several global reports. It came globally first in government efficiency, and in bridging cultures, and was also ranked as the highest ranking Arab nation in the happiness and satisfacti­on of its people. Additional­ly, the UAE was recently ranked globally first in women’s education, and the first regionally in reducing the gender gap, according to the World Economic Forum’s gender gap index.”

“We are proud of the achievemen­ts of Emirati women and their honourable image in all internatio­nal forums, since the establishm­ent of the Union till today. This reflects the keenness of our wise leadership in empowering women and promoting their effective role in our nations continued developmen­t and progress,” she added.

Shaikha Manal continued by praising the unwavering support of the, Shaikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Supreme Chairwoman of Family Developmen­t Foundation (FDF), Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union (GWU) and Chairwoman of the Supreme Council of Motherhood & Childhood, who has played a supportive role in the achievemen­ts of UAE women today.

She concluded by calling on all Emirati women to continue their efforts in making an impact in the communitie­s and contributi­ng to the success of their beloved nation. She reinforced her belief that a country can only make advancemen­ts through the active participat­ion of both women and men.

The “Happiest Women in the World” title was chosen for the celebratio­ns based on the high ranks of the UAE as the first Arab nation to receive a high ranking in the happiness and satisfacti­on of the people, according to the results of a survey by the United Nations.
