Free basketball clinic for kids
dubai — The best way for kids to get into physical activity is by incorporating a fitness routine into their daily life in a friendly and fun filled atmosphere.
MPAC Sports, pioneers in professional basketball programmes at the grassroot level in the region has launched a free health and fitness initiative which include centres at the Jumeirah & Dubai Investment Park Dubai and in Sharjah at the Victoria International School — first sessions at 7pm on Thursday and Saturday this weekend.
To receive free fitness & basketball classes parents can call or email the MPAC Sports office 24 hours prior to the day they would like to attend. Classes are available daily for kids ages 5-18 at no charge. The contact numbers and email address of MPAC Sports are — info@mpacsports.com and 043851777 / 0501429330.
“The sessions are geared for those who want to pick up the game and also for those who want to indulge in exercise filled fun activity,” said an official on behalf of MPAC.
Established in Chicago in 2002, MPAC Sports has been operating in the UAE since 2007 and currently has 40 academies throughout Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Al Ain and Ras Al Khaimah training over 2,000 plus kids weekly.
MPAC is directed towards developing sports infrastructure in the UAE and providing top-tier, elite and recreational programmes. All of their instructors are equipped with professional coaching education, American training and NCAA Division I experience.
“Anyone who’s seen kids on a playground knows that most are naturally physically active and love to move around. But what might not be apparent is that playing sports and dribbling a basketball can help kids live a longer healthier lifetime,” MPAC trainers said.
“As they get older, it can be a challenge for kids to get enough daily activity in this region. Reasons include increasing demands of school, the weather, a feeling among some kids that they aren’t good at sports, a lack of active role models, and busy working families.”
