RTA announces new Ramadan timings

dubai — The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced new timings for different services during the holy month of Ramadan. These services include those offered by customer service centres, car parks, public buses, Dubai Metro, Dubai Tram, marine transit modes, driving institutes, and vehicles testing and registrati­on centres.

Moaza Saeed Al Marri, Director of Marketing and Corporate Communicat­ion, RTA Corporate Administra­tive Support Services Sector, said: “Modifying the timings of service delivery during the holy month of Ramadan aims at improving various services provided by RTA’s agencies to community members to cope with the change in the daily routine during the holy month.

“The customer service centres will deliver services at different times from Sunday to Thursday. The Umm Al Ramool, Barsha, Deira and Karama centres will open from 9am to 2pm, while Tawar, Manara and Awir centres will open from 9am to 5pm. The Jumeirah Beach Residences centre will operate from 10am to 3pm. “As for the paid parking zones in Dubai, the fee will be activated in car parks with codes A and B — except the Fish Market, Tecom Zone (Dubai Media City and Dubai Internet City), and Knowledge Village car parks — from Saturday to Thursday from 8am to 1pm, and from 7pm to midnight. The fee will be activated in Fish Market — with code E — throughout the week from 8am to 1pm, and from 4pm to 11pm. Tecom and Knowledge Village parkings with Code F will have the fee system activated from 8am to 6pm from Saturday to Thursday. The fee will remain active in the multi-level parking terminals 24 hours a day,” explained Al Marri.

Public transport timings

“Bus service at main stations Gold Souk and Ghubaiba will run from 5am to midnight from June 18 to July 17 this year. In subsidiary stations, such as Al Qusais, Satwa, Al Quoz Industrial, and Jebel Ali, the service will operate from 5:40am to 10:30pm, and in other stations from 5am to 12:30am, except for Route C01 which operates round-the-clock,” Al Marri said.

“Metro Feeder Stations, such as Rashidiya, Mall of the Emirate, Ibn Battuta, Burj KhalifaDub­ai Mall, Abu Hail and Etisalat stations, will start business at 5:15am and close at 12:30am from Saturday to Wednesday, and from 5:15am to 1:10am on Thursday and Friday. While main commercial transport stations and inter-city bus services such as Ghubaiba, will be operationa­l 24-hours a day,” she said. “As for the metro service timing, all stations on the Red Line will open from Saturday to Wednesday from 5:30 am to midnight. On Thursday the service will be available from 5:30am to 1am, and on Friday from 1pm to 1am.”
