Presents art materials to enhance students’ learning abilities

dubai — Western Furniture, the premier retailer of upscale home furniture in the UAE, recently visited the Dubai Autism Center to hand out gifts to its 54 students.

In a step that reinforces its commitment to the community in line with its CSR strategy, Mikdad Bhabhrawala, CEO of Western Furniture, distributed the art materials to the students to enhance their learning abilities.

The event included a short presentation conducted by Afaf Al Hadad, education head of Dubai Autism Center, who explained that autism is a lifelong neurobiological disorder that impairs communication, social interaction and the way individuals perceive the world around them. There is also an alarming increase of autism with one out of every 68 children diagnosed globally.

“It was a very heartwarming experience, seeing the smile on the children’s faces when they received the gifts that we have shared with them. The presentation about autism was very informative and raised the need to create awareness in providing autistic children and their families with support and guidance. We hope to take part in other activities in the future to support the Center,” said Bhabhrawala.

Robert Paldez, project manager of Dubai Autism Center, assisted the team as they visited several classrooms to meet the children and hand over the presents. Under
