Mobile apps have become a way of life for many people. They provide access to all kinds of information, fun activities, and increasingly essential services while away from home or office. With smartphones now accounting for over half of mobile phone handsets in the UAE, the importance of apps in our lives is undoubtedly increasing.

Online banking revolutionised the way we interact with our banks, and our accounts with them. In short, the days of visiting bank branches are gone.

Mobile apps are the next big step in personal banking. This is the place where the battle for new customers is going to be fought. New, young customers want to do their banking the way they do everything else, on the move.

ADIB launched its mobile app in early 2014 and since then more and more customers have downloaded and used the app to carry out regular banking transactions through their smart phones or devices.

ADIB’s mobile app not only allows customers to check their account balances but also supports a host of other services, such as local and international payments, account and card statements, payment of utility bills, applications for car, home and personal financing as well as the award-winning covered card.

“I was pleased to see that ADIB has developed such a useful app, and I found it incredibly easy to use. I was able to apply for an Etihad Guest covered card in just a few minutes while I was on my lunch-break from work,” said Anam Aziz, an Indian living in Abu Dhabi. “I use my smart phone a lot for different things and now being able to pay bills as well as check my balance is really convenient when I don’t have time to make the trip to the branch or an ATM.”

ADIB’s mobile app has been rated favourably against other banking apps by reviewers on both iTunes and Google Play.

Customers can download the app for free from iTunes App Store or the Google Play Store. It is very intuitive and just requires users to enter their telephone banking pin, which can be easily obtained by calling ADIB’s customer service centre on 800 2288.
