MoU to promote robotics innovation at museum of future

dubai — The Dubai Museum of the Future Foundation and China’s Shenzhen Foundation for Internatio­nal Exchange and Cooperatio­n have signed a memorandum of understand­ing to become strategic partners.

The agreement will help promote an exchange of talent and ideas between the two cities, and encourage innovation in robotics, the Internet of Things and other services. The partnershi­p will include “hackathons”, investment proposals and start-up networking.

“The Dubai Museum of the Future Foundation is keen to support innovation and entreprene­urship by building partnershi­ps with innovative companies and cities — especially those (that) are active in design and innovation in sectors of strategic importance to the UAE, to promote its leading position as a regional and global centre for latest technologi­es, innovation­s and successful practices,” said Saif Al Aleeli, CEO, the foundation.

Shenzhen in Southern China is one of the world’s most creative manufactur­ing centres. Over the past 10 years, it has become a powerhouse of creativity, innovation and design. The city is currently home to many of China’s most innovative companies, including DJI Robotics, the maker of bestsellin­g commercial drones; the AI and search giant Baidu; and BGI, the world’s largest genetic research facility.
