SCTDA participating in Moscow tourism show

sharjah — The Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA) is participating for the seventh year in a row in the Moscow International Travel and Tourism Exhibition (MITT).

The SCTDA is leading the Sharjah delegation, which includes representatives from the Sharjah Airport Travel Agency, Sharjah International Airport Authority and Air Arabia, along with a number of the most prominent hotels in the emirate. The exhibition will take place from March 23-26 at the Expocentre Fairgrounds in Moscow.

Khalid Jasim Al Midfa, chairman of the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, said that the exhibition is one of the most important international exhibitions that brings together the leaders of the travel, tourism and hospitality industry from around the world, lending great impetus to the participation of the emirate in the event, and supports its plans to attract more tourists from the Russian market.

Russian market as an ideal tourist destination for families because of its mild weather and sandy beaches on the Arabian Gulf and Gulf of Oman, in addition to the desert, which offers a number of sports and recreational activities. He added that as well as possessing a well-developed infrastructure and prestigious hotel facilities, Sharjah has a number of museums and leading cultural centers.

Al Midfa also said that Russia is an important market for Sharjah as it is characterised by its tourists’ high purchasing power that supports the performance of the tourism sector in Sharjah.
