dubai — An Indonesian housemaid, who was allegedly having sex with a carpenter hired by her sponsor in the latter’s home, has been referred to the Court of Misdemeanors on a sex out of wedlock charge.

The carpenter, J.S., a 48-yearold Indian, is also being charged in the Court of First Instance with making criminal threats against another maid in the villa. J.S. is believed to have threatened the other maid of killing her if she informed her sponsor about his visits to the villa in the sponsor’s absence. The complaint against him was filed on November 23 last year to the Rashidiyah police.

The Indonesian maid, 45, said during the investigation that she saw J.S. entering the villa many times. “I thought his visits were related to the construction work being done in the house”.

She said she spotted him in her room together with the other maid (who was referred to court). “She told me it was none of my business when I asked her what they were doing there”. The maid also said that J.S. threatened to slit her throat if she reported him to her sponsor.

She did not inform her employer about him on that day because she felt scared.

“My co-worker told me later that she had a sexual relation with the carpenter and that they had sex many times in the villa while I was busy taking care of the employer’s baby girl”.

The Emirati sponsor said during the investigation that he learnt about J.S. from his neighbours. “I knew that he would come to the villa in the morning at a time when none was there except the two maids”.

The sponsor said that he waited for the carpenter around 10.30am and when the latter left the villa he chased him.

“When I caught him and called the police, J.S. said that he was not scared and what I could do to him”.

The court give verdict against J.S. on April 18 on the threat charge.
