dubai — The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai (GDRFA) has introduced the UAE vision system, allowing members of the public to apply for all kinds of visa and residency-related transactions only via typing centres approved by the department.

GDRFA Director-General Major General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri said the system means that people will no longer be required to visit the GDRFA headquarters or its external branch locations to apply for visa or residency-related transactions, including applying for new visas, renewing residency permits, applying for new residency, or cancellations, in addition to any other related services, which will all now be available at the typing centres.

Maj Gen Al Marri said the GDRFA’s UAE vision system has been introduced to make things easier for residents and help them save time.

Colonel Hussein Ibrahim, Assistant of the director-general for administrative support at the GDRFA, said clients must provide accurate information to the typing centres — including valid phone numbers, addresses and e-mails — in order to allow communication with them.

Those who apply for visit visa -related transactions will have it sent to their emails, while those applying for residency visa services will have it sent to them via the Zajel service.
