‘Proper posture can help avoid backache’

ISLAMABAD — Medical profession­al and head of rehabilita­tion department, Mayo Hospital, Lahore, Dr Khalid Jamil Akhtar has strongly recommende­d to people to follow proper body posture in daily life as it can help prevent backache.

Talking to a private news channel here on Tuesday, Dr Khalid said for patients having back pain it is quite essential that they should follow the right posture while sitting, standing, sleeping or driving otherwise their problem could worsen.

He suggested some useful tips to avoid back pain. He recommende­d the use of table and chair while studying. He advised students to avoid sitting on the floor while studying and recommende­d use of straight bed or ‘charpai’ or spring bed instead of soft bed or mattress for sleeping.
