Killing of Kashmiri student condemned

islamabad — Pakistan on Saturday strongly condemned the killing of Javed Mir, a college student in Badgam district, and illegal detention of Hurriyat leadership by the Indian occupation forces in the Indian Occupied Kashmir.

Nafees Zakaria, spokespers­on for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a tweets, said Hurriyat leaders including Geelani, Mirwaiz and Asiya Andrabi, had been under the illegal detention which was highly deplorable.

“We deplore Indian forces torturous treatment of Hurriyat leader Yasin Malik, reportedly in critical condition in ICU,” he added.

Conveying the heartfelt condolence­s to the family of Javed Mir 22, Nafees said he was unarmed and sole breadwinne­r of his family.

The spokespers­on condemned Indian occupation forces’ genocide, crimes against humanity and blatant violations of human rights in Occupied Kashmir.

More than 150 people had been martyred, hundreds blinded by pellet guns and thousands injured in Indian Occupied Kashmir since July 8, he said and demanded an end to such atrocities.

Later in a PTV programme, he said UN resolution­s should be implemente­d and the Kashmiris be given the choice to decide their own fate. — APP
