The UNGC presence in the UAE indicates on the importance of Dubai and DLD’s successful strategic programs, especially in the registration and regulation of the real estate as it transfer its experiences to the countries of the world.
Bin Mejren explained that the laws have been exported to many countries, including the Gulf countries, as many governments are working today to establish real estate regulatory agencies, taking Dubai as a lead. He praised the experience of Dubai Real Estate Institute, which offers courses outside the UAE for the transfer of knowledge, noting also that the selection of Dubai to host the Sustainable Cities Centre is one of the most important achievements.

The United Nations Global Compact was founded in July 2000 in New York City, and is the largest global initiative for institutional sustainability. It brings together over eight thousand companies and four thousand relevant parties all around the world. Global Compact Institutional policies are focused on 10 principles that have earned global consent on the human rights, work, environment and combating corruption fronts. These local networks are a set of participants that meet to promote ideals and principles stipulated in Global Compact world agreement within a specific region, at time when Dubai is registered as member of the Global Compact world agreement.
