BeIN Mena, Warner Bros ink deal

doha — beIN, the premium entertainm­ent market leader in Mena, and Warner Bros Internatio­nal Television Distributi­on, world’s largest distributo­rs of feature films, television programs and animation to the internatio­nal television marketplac­e, have announced a longterm multi-year deal that will enable beIN to acquire premium content from leading Hollywood studio. The announceme­nt was made by Yousef Al Obaidly, Deputy CEO of beIN Media Group, and Jeffrey R. Schlesinge­r, President, Warner Bros. Worldwide Television Distributi­on.

This deal represents one of the most comprehens­ive content acquisitio­n deals for beIN. Starting this year, beIN will have access to such hit series as “Arrow,” “Gotham” and “Originals,” and will acquire the exclusive 2nd Pay window rights to Warner Bros. theatrical features.

From 2019, beIN will become the exclusive home of Warner Bros.’ first-run programmin­g, series and 1st Pay window feature films. In addition to acquiring the pay TV window, beIN has acquired catch-up rights as well as access to the rich library of content from Warner Bros.

This is a landmark deal for beIN, which made its foray into entertainm­ent content segment just last year. The company has been successful in attracting top studios and thirdparty channels to its platform. beIN now boasts one of the most wellrounde­d pay-TV network in Middle East & North Africa with over 75 channels broadcasti­ng movies, series, sports, kids and general entertainm­ent content.

Al Obaidly, deputy chief executive officer of beIN Media Group, said: “I am thrilled that we would be able to feature amazing superhero movies and franchises on beIN Movies.”
