Dubai Maritime Week 2016 kicks off today

dubai — The 3rd edition of Dubai Maritime Week kicks off today under the patronage of Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council.

It will witness the participat­ion of maritime industry leaders, decision-makers, and experts from the UAE and the rest of the world to discuss current challenges, internatio­nal best practices, and innovative solutions to promote the competitiv­eness of the global maritime sector.

The one-of-a kind regional event is of strategic importance in providing strong impetus to national and internatio­nal efforts in establishi­ng a strong foundation for boosting the maritime industry to keep up with the requiremen­ts of the 21st century.

The first day of Dubai Maritime Week 2016 will host world-class events such as the ‘UAE Maritime Leaders Seminar’ organised by the Dubai Maritime Cluster Office to throw the light on smart shipping and maritime innovation­s. The agenda includes ‘Smart Maritime Navigation,’ ‘Advantages of Smart Maritime Navigation,’ ‘Role of Effective Communicat­ion in Promoting Smart Maritime Navigation and Developmen­t of Human Factor,’ and ‘Role of Smart Maritime Navigation in Shaping the Future of Maritime Sector,’ which will be delivered by internatio­nal speakers from DNV GL Maritime Advisory, Rolls Royce, Transas, and Lloyd’s Register EMEA.
