Cousins die as well plays villain
al ain — Three children, all cousins, left their families in shock after they fell into a well in the compound of their house and died within minutes. The tragic incident took place in their house at Al Nafia in Ahili area, Al Ain, on Wednesday afternoon.
Four cousins were playing in the compound of the house when they ran over the cover of the well which broke. All of them fell into the well, and while three of them drowned, one of them was pulled back to safety and rushed to Al Ain Hospital.
The bodies of the drowned children have been shifted to the forensic laboratory.
Major Mohammed Saleh Al Baloushi, director of the emergency section at the Al Ain Police said the emergency and crisis team rushed to the scene on receiving information and helped rescue Khalifa Mohammed Al Darmaki, one of the boys. However, his twin Sultan Mohammed Al Darmaki, died on the spot along with his cousin Hissa Mohammed Mubarak and her brother Mohammed Mubarak Al Khubaili.
The Abu Dhabi Police have, in the meantime, confirmed in a statement that there is no criminal motive behind the death of the children. The statement said that people should be careful and not spread rumours or wrong information about such incidents, especially on social media.

all the children fell into the well. The maid was running after them but she could not do anything to prevent the fall.
According to the aunt, the boy who has survived is well and has been discharged from hospital.
Umm Mohammed added that the well had been dug over 20 years ago and ever since has been covered. The family members were not even aware if there was water in it or if it was dry. She add- ed that the fathers of the children were outside the country when the incident happened. While Hissa and Mohammed’s father had travelled to Germany, Khalifa and Sultan’s father was in France. The fathers are expected to be back by today when the burial would take place.
