Shaikh Khalifa Specialty Hospital now JCI-accredited

ras al khaimah — The Shaikh Khalifa Specialty Hospital (SKSH) in the emirate — an initiative of the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan — has received the JCI Accreditat­ion in less than two years of its official opening.

Ahmed Juma Al Zaabi, Deputy Minister of Presidenti­al Affairs, and Chairman of H.H. Initiative­s Committee and Chairman, Board of Directors of the Medical Office, said the hospital has adopted all the standards, measuremen­ts and specificat­ions in line with internatio­nal best practices applied by prestigiou­s healthcare facilities, over the past two years.

“Such an accomplish­ment is part of the strategy of the medical office in the Ministry of Presidenti­al Affairs to assist the hospitals and healthcare centres under its supervisio­n to receive the internatio­nal quality accreditat­ion in response to the directives of the prudent UAE leadership,” Al Zaabi said.

Hassan Ahmed Al Alkim Al Zaabi, Undersecre­tary and Director General of the Medical Office, said the JCI Accreditat­ion will definitely assist in establishi­ng a system that would measure the quality performanc­e of the hospital. “It would also ensure… the improvemen­t of the working environmen­t in the hospital, its efficient operationa­l services, and facilitate the access of patients to the clinics in a short time.”

Dr Myung-Whun Sung, CEO of SKSH, said the accreditat­ion enhances the trust of their patients, maintains their rights and safety during their hospital stay or during their outpatient clinic visits. “It encourages our colleagues to report accidents and risks to avoid any surroundin­g dangers,” Sung said. ahmedshaab­an@khaleejtim­es.com
