The festivities begin with Frozen
abu dhabi — The UAE’s Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development began its celebrations for the UAE’s 45th National Day on Thursday with the screening of the play Frozen in the presence of Shaikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development.
The rest of the events will begin on November 29 and will continue until December 6. The City Walk festival in Dubai, which includes 35 events and 29 global folk art brands, will be an added attraction. Over 25 countries will display their country’s shows, heritage and arts.
Events also include “Walkathon of the Nation” with 1,200 people from various communities living in the UAE starting from the City Walk Dubai and passing through the Western Emirates and to Abu Dhabi. The ministry also launched the operetta Noor Al Etihad with the participation of artists from the UAE and Arab countries, in addition to two shows of the European Union Orchestra in Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.
Additionally, cultural centres will organise more than 194 events in nine centres throughout the state. Events include heritage and folk arts programmes, innovation competitions, movie shows, cultural trips to heritage locations in addition to the “Happiest Nation” city and a number of other events.
Participating Malls for the events of the ministry this year are Abu Dhabi Mall, Festival City Dubai, Mega Mall Sharjah and Bawadi Mall Al Ain. Events include art exhibitions, competitions, traditional and international shows, Spirit of the Union exhibition and innovative programmes.
