Trade fair for consumer goods opens
dubai — Shaikh Hasher bin Juma Al Maktoum, director-general of the Dubai Department of Information, inaugurated the 31st International Autumn Trade Fair (IATF 2016) on Wednesday. The event will continue until December 16 (Friday) at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
“The International Autumn Trade Fair is an exhibition of consumer goods and appliances. The 31st edition comes at a time when the UAE’s non-oil trade reached Dh553.4 billion during the first half of 2016,” said Satish Khanna, general manager, Al Fajer Information and Services, the event organiser.
He added: “The UAE is considered a business hub of the Gulf countries, Iran, South Asia and East Africa. Specialised trade fairs such as this one help to promote foreign trade growth.”
“The surge in trade of industrial products has helped attract more than 250 exhibitors from over the world. Visitors are viewing latest commercial products from sectors such as consumer goods and fashion, electronics and handicrafts,” said Rupashree Singh, exhibition manager.
The IATF 2016 specialises in products such as art, antiques and handicrafts, artificial flowers and plants, auto parts, bags, building materials, carpets and wall coverings, cosmetics, perfumes, crystal products, electrical devices and electronic, fashion, jewellery products, food, among others.
