Cashless convenience for car owners
The Vehicle Identification Pass (ViP) by ENOC introduces a novel way to fill gas tanks
Gone are the days of fumbling with cash, fuel cards or collecting receipts, as a smart management solution by ENOC is set to change the way we refuel our cars.
The Vehicle Identification Pass (ViP), which is a securely encoded electronic security tag mounted near the fuel tanks, features Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology that tracks every fuel transaction and enables instant recognition of registered vehicles and customers.
The innovative technology, which promises a completely automated and paperless system, allows the nozzle to automatically recognise fuelling preferences set for the vehicle, calculate the amount of fuel filled from the dispenser and deduct money automatically from the individual’s ViP account.
Additionally, customers can set up as many personal vehicles per account, much to the convenience of large families, or individuals with multiple vehicles, to better manage fuel budgets.
According to ENOC, it has been positively received by users, and looks forward to successful transactions among corporate customers, who have had access to the service since 2014. To date, ENOC recorded around 85,000 million transactions from both corporate and individual customers across the ENOC/EPPCO network of 113 service stations.
To register, customers can visit any of its service stations across the UAE, with the following documents — Emirates ID for residents or passport copies for visitors, and the vehicle registration card. Upon purchasing the ViP tag, users can activate their account using a customer code and create a personalised PIN. ENOC further offers to install the tag on vehicles.
How it works
Registered customers get access to the dedicated ViP portal to log in and view information in real time. They can manage their monthly fuel budgets by tracking how much they refuel every month, and manage several vehicles from a single account.
Upon transaction, customers will receive an SMS and e-mail with the amount deducted as well as the remaining balance in their accounts. Every ViP fuel transaction is recorded online and can be monitored at any given time.
Catering to the smartphonesavvy community, the system will soon launch an ENOC Pay app in Q2 this year, which will allow users to top up ViP accounts from their mobile phones. It will also be directly linked to users’ cards, beating the need to pre-load the account.
ENOC is constantly looking for ways to improve its product for seamless customer experience. With the use of ViP, customers can now experience easier, faster and safer refuelling visits to all service stations.
