HAs your School raised Awareness Against Smoking?

-

Dhruv gogia, Ambassador School Dubai My school has done a lot for awareness against smoking. We have made anti-smoking posters and carried out simple experiments proving the fact that “smoking is harmful.” We are also briefed on the illeffects of smoking on teens. In my opinion, our Ministry of Education should spread more education on the effects of smoking etc. imran Ameer, Al Ameer English School We have a community programme called “Swatantratha”. This is a group acting against smoking, porn addiction and bullying. My suggestion is that the activities of such groups must be done secretly with just the victim, because when others come to know about a person’s negative side, he or she may get mentally depressed. Fathima shahda, Gems Our Own Indian School Our school celebrates the world “No Tobacco Day”. On that day, middle school students involve themselves in activities like poster making competitions. In our senior section, doctors spend time with students discussing smoking. Our school takes these tremendous efforts so that every student knows that ‘smoking kills’. kristi reeni Joies, Our Own English High School, Sharjah (Girls) I have never felt pressured by peers to take to smoking. In this generation, smoking has influenced teens. Staying in bad company forces the teen to be influenced by bad habits. Young people can be very convincing at times and get their friends to smoke. Most teens may feel that they will lose their friends if they don’t give in to the peer pressure.
