Local leader shot dead in Thailand

A local official in Thailand’s deep south was fatally shot on Friday by heavily armed men who stopped him on his way to work, police said. Sama-ae Doloh, a sub-district chief in Pattani province, was driving his pickup truck to work when three men in another truck blocked an intersection and opened fire, Police Capt.
