Eros Group employees support Car Free Day

-

dubai — More than 300 employees from Eros Group walked from the Mall of the Emirates Metro Station to Eros House in Al Barsha to mark and support Dubai Municipality’s Car Free Day.

The environmentally-friendly initiative organised by the civic body is now in its eighth consecutive year. The group gathered at the station after using the Metro and began their walk at 8am and took 20 minutes to reach Eros House.

“Every year, Eros employees are keen to take part in this initiative and they were yet again excited to be part this year in this environmentally friendly initiative,” said Niranjan Gidwani, deputy chief executive officer of Eros Group. “We hope this Car Free Day will increase awareness on air pollution, fossil fuel depletion and the increase in carbon dioxide emission and its effect on the environment. Our motoring lifestyle also inadvertently causes traffic accidents, stress and road rage and we hope people realise the impact it has on their health and adopt more environmentally friendly modes of transport like the Dubai Metro and RTA buses.”

This year’s event was initiated by Dubai Municipality to remind the public on their responsibility towards the environment and to encourage the conservation of the planet’s limited resources.
