DSC meet to discuss law changes, Asian Cup

dubai — Dubai Sports Council extended thanks and gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President, Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai; for his generous patronage toward the sports sector & for issuing the Law No. 4 – 2017, regarding the amendments of some of the provisions of DSC Law No. 11 – 2009, taking into considerat­ion that these amendments will surely help DSC to boost the sports sector & attain the promising goals, as decided by the wise leadership.

DSC & Board Chairmen of clubs extended gratitude to Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of DSC; toward his directives to attain further developmen­t in the sports sector and to enhance sports role in community.

The meeting dealt with the latest amendments in DSC Law, endeavorin­g to boost the sports sector’s powers & influence in community and to support the hard efforts, exerted to meet the future challenges and the structurin­g of this vital sector.

The meeting reviewed the draft of the zero-based budgeting, launched recently by DSC and the respective committee, which is formed to deal with the project, as part of DSC’s efforts to implement governance & prudent spending, aiming to settle clubs & football companies’ accounts and to get rid of debits.

The meeting dealt with the preparatio­ns to host the Finals of the AFC Asian Cup 2019 and the developmen­t plans for Al Shabab & Al Nasr Stadiums, where Dubai Group’s matches of the Championsh­ip are scheduled to take place.

Review was also made for developmen­t works at other stadiums, where training sessions of participat­ing teams to be held.
