Ministry launches visual identity of UAE’s foreign aid strategy
abu dhabi — Under the patronage of Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the ministry has launched the visual identity of the country’s foreign aid strategy, UAE AID.
Reem Al Hashemi, Minister of State for International Cooperation, said: “The launch of the UAE Foreign Assistance Policy and the development of UAE AID are representative of the UAE’s past and future, both of which will inspire the UAE to work alongside international partners, and to build a better world for its global citizens.
“When thinking about the scale of this task, we are reminded of the words of our great leadership that formed our union. Its spirit of collaboration was founded upon a desire to increase the ties that bind us and the belief that they were a part of one family, and that they must gather under one leadership,” Al Hashemi added.
UAE AID is a physical embodiment of this sentiment of togetherness as the country is comprised of more than 200 nationalities, and reflects the spirit of giving which is an integral part of the UAE’s culture and values. The launch of the foreign assistance policy and the UAE AID coincides with the announcement by the President, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the year 2017 as the Year of Giving.
The Minister pointed out that “UAE AID will be the vehicle for the civic humanitarianism that is deeply imbedded into our culture and values and will act as a constant reminder of the great strides our nation has made and the valuable learning opportunities we will gain from working together with our fellow nations. A tapestry woven with stability, innovation, collaboration and cooperation, and these values are fundamental to humanity.”
