Fun for everyone at the ATP J.P. Morgan Kids’ Day

dubai — Nearly 1000 school children from across the UAE took to the courts at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium on Monday for the ATP J.P. Morgan Kids’ Day.

The morning of activities included a tennis clinic led by coaches from the Clark Francis Tennis Academy, before enjoying some entertainm­ent, photo opportunit­ies and a meet and greet with two top ATP players.

The children also had the chance to watch ATP players Dustin Brown and Gilles Muller practicing on Centre court before meeting Daniel Nestor and Edouard Roger-Vasselin who gave the children some tips on how to improve their game before posing for photos with them. “The kids were extremely enthusiast­ic and it’s nice to see them enjoy this sport. This morning was a lot of fun, we know the sport is growing here in Dubai and it’s great to be a part of this,” said Nestor.

Tournament director Salah Talak said: “It’s always great to kick start the week seeing so many kids enjoying themselves on the court. Our aim is to inspire more and more kids to get involved in the game and we are delighted with this morning’s turnout.”

Colm McLoughlin, executive vice chairman and CEO of Dubai Duty Free, said: “We are celebratin­g the 25th anniversar­y of the tournament this week, and our community programmes are an important part of creating a fantastic legacy from this event. The tournament is always keen to spread awareness of the game.”
