Woman falls to death from 17th floor of Sharjah highrise
sharjah — The Sharjah Police are investigating the death of a 40-year-old Iranian woman who fell from the 17th floor of a tower in Al Tawoon area.
The police said that they received a call about a woman falling off the AI SAS tower around 1am. A team of forensic experts, patrols, CID officers and an ambulance was dispatched to the site but found the woman, identified as M.A, dead.
On speaking to the security guards of the building and eyewitness including neighbours, the police said that the deceased lived with her sister in one of the apartments in the highrise. On approaching the apartment, the police asked her sister to identify the body. The deceased’s sister was shocked to find her sister dead as she did not have the slightest clue that the former had fallen off the building.
Suspecting foul play, the police took the sister in custody for further interrogation.
The initial investigations show that there were no marks of any physical harm on her body. The police said M.A. died as she suffered serious injuries in her skull and fractures in all parts of her body.
A neighbour said that he had always seen the two women together and they didn’t show any kind of abnormal behaviour. The police said the building is new and its construction design met all the safety measures required to prevent the fall accidents.
The police still suspect foul play behind the death of the woman and are further investigating the mysterious death case.
