The Sultanate is a nation of sports lovers. The nation’s young and old love watching and playing some of the most physical kinds of sports. Football is a passion for the nation and the national team does consistently well at the regional and international level. The people love hockey, cricket and basketball and have shown some promise at the regional level. The authorities have striven to encourage this love of sports in the youth.
