Jiu-Jitsu team off to Europe

— Two teams of the UAE’s top Jiu-Jitsu athletes will represent the nation in internatio­nal tournament­s to be held in Europe over next week.

The UAE men’s team along with technical and administra­tive staff are headed to London, for the fifth and final leg of the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam Jiu-Jitsu World Tour. Additional­ly, set to showcase their skills in Greece are members of the under-21 and under-18 teams, at the World Championsh­ip for Aspirants and Juniors.

This marks the second edition of the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam Jiu-Jitsu World Tour, which will see over 800 players in participat­ion. Representi­ng the UAE are veteran athletes Faisal Fahd Al Ketbi, Mohamed Nasser Al Qubaisi, Ibrahim Abdullah Al-Hosni, Saeed Mohammed Al Fahd, Dahi Rashid Al Ketbi, Mubarak Bacharahil, Saeed Juma Al Mazroui, and Mohammed Saeed Al Muhairi and Sultan Ali Al Owais.

On the other hand, this is the UAE’s national team second participat­ion at the World Championsh­ip for Aspirants and Juniors. Obaid Alnuaimi, Khalifa Nassrati, Said AlMazrouai, Zayed Almansoori, Sultan Aldhaheri, Saaid Hamdou, Hamad Alnoaimi and Ali Albannai make up the Aspirant (under-21) Team UAE, while the Junior (under-18) team consists of Mohammed Aldarmaki, Salem Al Daheri, Hamad Nawad, Omar Alfadhli, Khalid Alblooshi, Khalifa Alkaabi, Humaid Al Kaabi, Abdulla Alhammadi and Mansoor Alneyadi.
