abu dhabi — Formula One 2017 season with ‘new rules’ has seen Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix too up the ante in terms of entertainment. Now there’s more action awaiting fans and families at the Yas Marina Circuit this November.

The 2017 season is going to the fastest ever with lower, wider and faster cars. The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix was launched on Monday with up to 30 per cent early bird discount on tickets before May 31.

Yas Marina Circuit chief executive officer Tareq Al Ameri said he hasn’t experienced this sort of anticipation for a season since the inaugural edition.

“The 2017 season promises to be the most exciting not just for us but for everyone. With new technical rules and design we are entering a new era. The cars this year are wider, lower and faster — the fastest

ever in 50 years. There will be more drama in the sport this season as we had seen in Melbourne where Ferrari took the lead over Mercedes. Also, F1 has a new leadership. The new owners look to engage new audience with new entertainments,” Al Ameri said while announcing the sale of tickets.

“We will have a four-day entertainment, including ‘Super Thursday’,” he added.

The tickets are pegged at last year prices. There is wide range of ticket options and many packages too.

The ‘GP Parks Pass’ will return. It is a three-day package that allows unlimited access to Yas Island Parks — Ferrari World Abu Dhabi and Yas Waterworld — on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. This special three-day ticket package starts from Dh1,120 (for Abu Dhabi Hill) and will only be available for purchase until May 31 from ticket outlets.

Also, there will be ‘Family Friday’. With each three-day adult grandstand tickets there will be ‘Kids Go Free’, i.e., one child under 12 will get free Friday entry to that grandstand plus free access to Yas Waterworld and Ferrari World Abu Dhabi.

Ticket holders also enjoy a packed four days of entertainment starting with ‘Super Thursday’. In addition to the pit lane walk, the day will see after-race concert.

FLASH Entertainment CEO John Lickrish affirmed this season will be the best-ever with four days of entertainment.

The Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix will run from November 24 to 26.
