Man stabs woman to death

SHARJAH — A Sri Lankan man was arrested for allegedly stabbing a compatriot woman to death at her residence in Mysalon area here on Friday.

The 38-year-old suspect was arrested eight hours after committing the crime, a police source told Khaleej Times.

The 28-year-old victim was found in pool of blood and the suspect admitted to killing her before the police. Sharjah Police received a call about the crime at the operation room which immediately dispatched a team comprising patrols, forensic experts and ambulance as well as officers from criminal investigation department (CID). The team lifted finger prints, other evidences and shifted the body to forensic laboratory for autopsy.

During the investigation the police found that the man had an illicit relation with the victim. The police are continuing the investigation to know the motive behind the murder.—
