UAE has a vision for Arab youth

-

Year after year, Arab youth are picking the UAE as their favourite country. The reasons are not hard to fathom. Security, stability, education, career opportunities and a better quality of life make the UAE attractive to them, according to the latest Arab Youth Survey. This country is truly global and cosmopolitan, a hub or cultural exchange and interaction. People here come from different countries, religions and backgrounds. They have their differences, but work together to achieve great deeds. — a diverse mix who have resolved to coexist in harmony for the greater good and make it worth the effort. They toil, strive and learn not to give up. When they are down, this country provides them opportunities to rise above the humdrum. It teaches them to dream and keeps those dreams alive. There’s a piece of every country in the world here, and plenty of action from around the world. Some 200 nationalities live here. If you want to see the world on one visit, you just have to come to the UAE. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, tweeted: “The UAE is a country for everyone; the ambitions of young Arabs align with ours, and our dream is for the entire Arab region to prosper.” This country is different because it not only dreams for itself, but also has visions of prosperity for the entire world and its global citizens.

Arab youth find the UAE attractive for its model of tolerance which is lacking in most countries around the world. While many nations, including in the West, look inwards and stay aloof when times are bleak, the UAE engages with the world and forges new partnerships. Liberalism has a new meaning here because there is a pursuit of happiness that is steeped in values. This country even has happiness and tolerance ministers. Mere development is passe in the UAE. It has been ambitious when it comes to national goals for a better life, but is determined to push further, outside its comfort zone. This outreach and openness to others is what is luring Arab youth the UAE. The country gives them a sense of identity, and a model of governance which the region can emulate.
