Radio Gilli now on-air

dubai — Listeners of Tamil radio stations are in for a major treat with the launch of Radio Gilli 106.5 FM.

A well-established frequency of Umm Al Quwain Broadcast Network (UBN), Radio Gilli is all set to change the Tamil FM trend with its team of nine RJs on board. Led by a veteran management team that has in-depth experience in the radio industry, the station will be providing round-the-clock live programmes, in a first-of-its-kind experience in the UAE.

Ashokan Subramaniam, CEO of Radio Gilli, said the team is all set to bring the much needed rejuvenation for radio listeners in this region. “We have set in place a 24-hour programme model and our programme head, Nivi, along with her team, have worked out a good mix of programmes designed to keep the listeners engaged,” he added.

“We aim to provide infotainment round-the-clock. Our experienced RJs are all set to rock and roll the UAE’s South Indian diaspora living in the region... We [also] want to reward our listeners and we have planned a range of mega prizes that will be unparalleled in the UAE’s radio history.”

Cine Advertising Services, after a successful launch of Cine TV on E-Vision in November 2016, has procured the 106.5 FM frequency from UBN.

Cine TV is part of a world media group with established presence in India, Sri Lanka, Singapore and Europe, catering to Tamil audiences for over the past three decades.

Cine TV is presently available on popular cable channel dialog in Sri Lanka and E-Vision in the UAE. Cine TV on E-Vision is available at frequency 841 and has high viewership among the South Indian diaspora in the region ever since its launch. The group proposes to capitalise on their expertise to make Radio Gilli 106.5 FM the leading radio station in the region and hopes to provide a good platform to advertisers. FTP Advertising will be the exclusive sale concessionaire in the UAE for selling airtime of Cine TV and Radio Gilli 106.5 FM.
