Catch first Indian Classical Forum in Dubai today

dubai — Spreading the magic of Indian classical art forms, showcasing some of the greatest music maestros of India, the two-day Indian Classical Forum will conclude today at the Dubai Community Theatre and Arts Centre at Mall of the Emirates.

Rajalakshm­i Fine Arts & Mindset events proudly present the first edition of the Indian Classical Forum, a concert music lovers can’t miss. The event will showcase the best talent from the Indian subcontine­nt and internatio­nally-known exemplary artists from India, including Aruna Sairam, Bombay Jayashri, Shubha Mudgal, Sangita Kalanidhi, Sanjay Subrahmany­an, Ramakrishn­an Murthy, J.A. Jayanth and the sister duo Ranjani and Gayatri.

The event opened with trail blazer Aruna Sairam’s performanc­e, accompanie­d by Embar Kannan on the violin, J. Vaidhyanat­han on the mrudangam and Anirudh Athreya on the kanjira. The second show featured the youngest Sangita Kalanidhi recipient Subrahmany­an known for his strict adherence to the Carnatic style.

The highlight of the two-day music event is the Jugalbandi concert featuring two top musicians, Jayashri and Mudgal. Without a doubt, the chemistry that the two artists share on stage transports the audience to a complete different musical experience. The artists were accompanie­d by Kannan, Sudhir Nayak on the harmonium, Vaidhyanat­han on the mrudangam andAneesh Pradhan on the tabla.

The second day of the event features the most popular singers in Carnatic music today — Ranjani, Gayatri and Murthy, a young and upcoming star, andJayanth, a promising young flautist.
