Jadhav dealt in accordance with law of land, says Nisar

islamabad — Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has said that Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav was convicted by a court of law as it was establishe­d that he was a terrorist, spy and agent involved in terrorist activities in the country.

Had Jadhav not been arrested on time, he might have spread more destructio­n in Pakistan, the minister said while addressing the passing-out parade of of Frontier Constabula­ry at Warsak, Peshawar.

Nisar said that there is no doubt that the whole nation is united on national security issues and advised so-called legal and defence experts to avoid making this issue controvers­ial.

The minister pointed out that it was India, and not Pakistan, which had approached the Internatio­nal Court of Justice (ICJ) and added that the Pakistan government would deal the Jadhav case according to its law of the land.

He said terrorists, who are being paid by anti-Islam elements, kill innocent people in the name of religion. He said such elements are the enemy of Islam and humanity and would be dealt with iron hands. Chaudhry Nisar said that FC soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the protection of motherland were the real heroes and the whole nation recognised their sacrifice and held them in high esteem.

The minister said the government would take necessary steps for the betterment of security forces, adding that in the last three years about Rs80 billion had been spent on civil armed forcesf. Hesaid that 29 new wings would be establishe­d in coming two to three months.

To a question, the minster said Pakistan has close relations with Afghans and wanted peace and stability in Afghanista­n.

However, if Afghanista­n would toe Indian line it would not be tolerated, he added. — APP
