Choithrams and Unilever celebrate environment day
dubai — Choithrams in association with Unilever celebrated World Environment Day on June 5 for the 4th consecutive year.
With rapid development and change in the UAE, awareness on sustainability has become more important than ever. Choithrams launched a conscious initiative on June 5 to replace the plastic bags used in their stores with paper bags, while continuing their successful collaboration with Unilever towards environmental sustainability since 2013. This initiative was inaugurated by Gaurav Rustagi, country director, Unilever, UAE & Oman along with Dinesh Pagarani, director, Choithrams at the Choithrams store, Safa Park, Dubai.
Commenting on the initiative Choithrams chairman L.T. Pagarani said: “We are committed to adopting sustainable solutions to address the major challenges that have an impact on our environment and our society.”
“Our four-year partnership with an impactful retailer like Choithrams is an example of successful alliances in reducing environmental footprint in the region,” commented Gaurav Rustagi.
Choithrams is also educating consumers on products that save substantial volumes of water in modern household appliances such as washing machines and dishwashers. Customers spending over Dh25 on any Unilever Water Saving products will be eligible for prizes including 7 washing machines and Dewa bill subsidies worth Dh50 to Dh500 based on a lucky draw.
