Don’t consume collagen protein bars: Ministry

dubai — The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MOCCAE) has urged the residents not to consume collagen protein bars or bites and return them as they are subjected to a recall.

The ministry said that it is closely following the food recall warning by the US Federal Drug Agency. The contaminated products were distributed between April 7 and June 12 through US retail stores and on bulletproof.com and sent to customers in different countries, including the UAE.

The ministry stressed that all food products in the UAE are strictly monitored by the ministry and the relevant local authorities. There is constant coordination with relevant authorities in the UAE to ensure the safety of all imported and traded food products.

The ministry reiterates that all imported and traded products undergo a strict monitoring in accordance with the best international practices, which include laboratory tests as per the risk assessment system, and an early notification system of foods that pose a risk to consumers’ health. reporters@khaleejtimes.com
