Students want to take drive to masses
Saloni Rakholiya, Grade 11 student, said their school’s eco club Natura started the initiative by creating awareness among the general public. In the second phase, volunteers collected various types of gadgets. “We along with parents of students covered streets of the Capital city, Mussafah and Shabia. We want to make this campaign a mass event.” The school plans to continue the programme after the summer vacation. “In future, we want to cover other schools. This should be a collective effort. We need to spread the message to preserve this land,” Sachit Kothari, another Grade 11 student, said. “Throwing away e-waste is not a solution; it is in fact a problem,” he added. Other student members in the group include Hanna Sarah, Armaan Agrawal, Sachit Kothari, Divyashri RN, Sankalp Mallela, Ayushi Ramakrishnan, Devananda Manoj and Aditya Satyanath. ashwani@khaleejtimes.com
