Cespedes fires Mets past Giants

Once they took the field, a little bit of controversy didn’t seem the bother the New York Mets.

On a day when unhappy veteran shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera asked to be traded, the slumping Mets broke out their bats. Yoenis Cespedes had three hits including a tworun homer and Lucas Duda had three hits including a solo blast as the New York Mets defeated the San Francisco Giants 11-4 on Friday night. Cabrera earlier voiced his disappointment with being moved to second base.
