The residents of the UAE were thrilled to see the President, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, receiving Their Highnesses Members of the Supreme Council and Rulers of the Emirates on the occasion of Eid Al Fitr on Sunday. Sporting a big smile, the cheerful looking Sheikh Khalifa exchanged Eid greetings with the Rulers of the Emirates in the Capital.

After pictures of the meeting went viral in the early afternoon on Sunday, residents across the UAE expressed their delight at seeing the President.

One Khaleej Times reader posted on Facebook: “It’s a pleasure to see Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan after a long gap. May Allah bless him with long life and divine happiness. Hearty Congratulations on the occasion of Eid.”

Another reader said it was “wonderful” to see him looking so well.

As videos began to emerge of Sheikh Khalifa exchanging greetings with Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid and Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, among others, people shared their delight on social media at seeing him on what many consider the most festive of Eids.

Commenting on a picture of the UAE President on Sunday, one user simply wrote: “We love you.”

Another Facebook user said he was “glad to see Sheikh Khalifa after a long absence from the public. God bless him.”
