Minor accident reporting system clicks with public

dubai — The Dubai Police’s ‘We Are All Police’ service benefitted 1,671 drivers in the emirate during the month of Ramadan. The programme, which lets users report minor accidents, saw 910 reports made on it.

Brigadier Khalid Al Razzouqi, Director of the General Department of Smart Service at the Dubai Police, said that drivers could log an accident report without having to wait for a traffic police car, directly contributing to preventing traffic jams and waiting time.

“The service is simple and easy to use. It requires the driver to access the Dubai Police application, use the simple traffic accident reporting service, press the ‘Report an Accident’ button and enter the required data such as vehicle information, driver’s licence number for the accident parties, and photographs from the scene,” Brig Al Razzouqi said.

He, however, stressed the importance of removing the cars involved in the accident from the road, to prevent danger to other road users, before using the service.

Once the accident is logged, the police station in the area of jurisdiction reviews and sends an incident report to the accident parties, all within 15 minutes.

Brig Al Razzouqi said that time and effort is saved in the process, for both drivers and the police.

Traffic violations that can be reported are not limited to accidents, but also covers cars parked in nondesignated spots or hindering people and traffic movement.
