Earthquake hits Afghanista­n

Afghanista­n has been hit by a 5.4-magnitude earthquake, according to an alert from the US Geological Survey. The epicentre of the quake, which hit around 4 am local time, was 204 kilometres deep, in a remote village of the Kuran wa Munjan district in Badakhshan province in north-east Afghanista­n. —
